The Gunpowder Factory Project
A personal project about an abandoned gunpowder factory in Essex, untouched by human intervention since it was vacated by the MOD in 1989
The Bells of Great St. Mary's
2009 is the 800th anniversary of Cambridge University, and to celebrate there are new bells being cast for the University church at the Taylor's Bell Foundry in Loughborough. This is reputedly the largest bell foundry in the world and one of only 2 in the UK.
The Hovis Buildings
A current project...the old Hovis buildings are to be demolished to make way for new flats and a heritage centre. The mill closed some years ago and the work will begin in the summer. For now it is empty except for its complex web of piping and machinery, too large and awkward to move from the buildings.
The Kylesku Bridge, Scotland
A truly beautiful bridge designed by ARUP which enables a fast route through the north west highlands of Scotland. Winner of numerous awards, in 2009 it celebrated its 25th anniversary and to date has needed no repairs whatsoever.
Transportation and Construction in Seoul
Three days in Seoul for an exhibition of personal work... while there I spent much of my time stuck in queues of traffic, so I tried to make the best of this with my camera! Also Construction, particularly around the old Olympic site.
New school buildings
Since moving to Cambridge I have worked a lot with local architects. I have photographed several new school buildings both for the County Council and for Mouchel. Here is just one example ... a day on site and then a url so that the client can choose what he or she will want at high resolution. All included in the reasonable single day fee.
20% of the UK's natural gas will be delivered along this pipeline in Wales. The landscape will return to it's previous state within 18 months, as proven with previous projects.
Recycling in Milton Keynes
In Milton Keynes, residents divide their waste into black bags (non-recyclable), pink bags (plastic bottles, cardboard, cans etc) and blue boxes (glass bottles). What happens then ...? Find out here...
Traffic signals in London...We take them for granted, but SERCO is on call 24 hours a day to keep them up and running.
Ignorant Bliss in Barbados
A truly beautiful house built in 2003 on the west coast of Barbados. The house is always cooled by the breezes that come down the gully above which it has been built, together with its heat reducing glass and full air-conditioning. This must be one of the most desirable properties on the island and can be rented out in the near future. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or phone me to find more details.
